The Ukrainian female-artist Tatiana Yablonskaya is one of the most influential artists that were introduced to China in 1950s. Her famous work "Bread" has greatly influenced the whole generation in China. The purity and simplicity of folk arts have provided her with passions and inspirations.  As an artist, she always explores variety of style; she presents daily lives and natural sceneries with variety of art forms.

Born in 1924, Viktor Ivanov is one of the leading figures of Severe Style in the early 1960s. Countryside and labor are always the main themes of his works. Inspired by Cubism, he finds the beauty of geometry in his realistic drawing. Although most of his works present hardships and difficulties, Ivanov tries to explore the beauty and purity of life through the images; and from which he finds love and hope.
