Graduate of Oil Painting Department from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, He Duoling, the representative of Scar Art, created a great stir with his oils paintings – The Awaken Spring Breeze and Youth as well as his picture – story book – Snow Goose in 1980s. He’s so well-grounded that there is vitality from the internal world of the artist in his paintings. What’s more, on the basis of research on techniques of western oil paintings, he has integrated into his paintings with Chinese traditional cultures, especially the philosophical ideology of harmony between nature and human and integration of external world and internal world, making his paintings characterized with unique Chinese culture.

Deep in ideas and skilled in expression, He Duoling also keeps exploring and presenting new elements in his paintings, which are more rare and commendable. As a creative Chinese artist, He brings with his works a profound connotation for us to feel the beauty of life from various angles.

He Duoling is one of the representatives of Chinese contemporary oil paintings. Twelve years after he had his solo exhibition in National Art Museum of China in 1984, here comes his another exhibition in the same museum. With wider cultural space, this is an art dialogue with different cultural backgrounds, and a dialogue of mental communications for furthering understandings.
