Born in Chongqing in 1948, Luo Zhongli started studying painting in his childhood under the influence of his father. He volunteered for ten – year living in a village of Dabashan mountain areas after graduated from attached middle school of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1968.
He became famous overnight with the surrealistic painting named Father during his studying in Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. He’s now among a board of directors of China Artists Association and president of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. He has won Gold Prize in the 2nd Art Exhibition of Young Generations of China and Merit Award for his works in Sichuan. There are collections of his works in National Art Museum of China, Belgium National Museum of History and Taiwan Mountain Art Museum.
