Sincerity--Solo Exhibition of Hoo Mojong
Some of the most unforgettable things can often be described in the purest words; and the most complicated things are often shown in the simplest form. Hoo Mojong’s works are like this. She shows her deep love of life in the way of calm and solitude. She translates her complicated, almost legendary life, into simple forms of painting. She exhibits the pain of turbulence in the way of honest and sincere.
Like her works, Hoo Mojong is a lonely, tough, pure and frank woman. She lives her life in solitude. She keeps her love and admiration away from the whole world. There is an unquestionable strength in her life. No matter the life is good or bad, turmoil or restful, she acts like an isolated hermit, a quiet contemplative.
As Lao-tzu said “The saints are all children”. Confucius said, “The rites should rather be simple than complicated”, and also as the Gospels says, “as simple as pigeons.” The works of Hoo Mojong are the purest form of the soul; they move away from impetuous and are unrestrained. From her works, we found inner peace. |
